A few words...It is finally warm and feeling like summer here in the Netherlands. Its time for the World Cup! Beer is discounted. There's an onslaught of memorabilia and all things ORANGE, my favorite are the bright orange sideburns that come with a Gillette razor! So it looks like my last few weeks Nijmegen will be fun. And there is a really nice Bulldog (along with lots of other dogs) in this new Pedigree commercial. There are actually two shots, a tight profile of the muzzle and dewlap and another with the bulldog looking right at the camera and licking its chops. Ok so I'm going to make some guacamole (the avocado is from Kenya) and watch some SOCCER!

This is what this blog is all about!!! I saw her in a park in Berlin walking about 20 paces behind her owner (who immediately struck me as a REAL Bulldog person). AS we approached she quickened her stride to move to her owner's side, sporting a bulldog friendly 'security' harness. Oh but she was a Sweet thing! Her owner told me her full English name: Her Royal Highness Princess of York [i believe]. She had a shorter german name that i cant remember but it sounded fit for a bully.

Just been laying low since the return from SF Bay Area (I had such a great time). I'm working on putting some shows together for the Radboud University student radio. I'm working on an Alternative show + a Dance show with my German friend Johanna, its going to be HOT...

walked around today...took some pics at the little garden house village near my building, trying to finish a roll of film from SF...i'll do a big scan when I get this set of film developed and post them online somewhere...

Mom is looking at adopting a bully...oh boy!

Spotted a bulldog on a train back to Nijmegen, after a short trip to San Francisco and Santa Cruz (first time to SF bay area= wow [shot film, let you know when its available]). She was an older bully (graying muzzle) with a huge underbite. She may have actually been a mix with a boxer because she did not have a flat face with a fat wrinkle over the nose, but had a more elongated snout and the legs seemed to be longer, though I didn't see her stand. She did have the bulldog temperment though, shrugging off incidental kicks from her lay under the train seat.

I was looking at the NY Times online today and POW! theres a travel story about my hometown Winston-Salem, NC. Here's the lead:

WINSTON-SALEM is a place of unusual juxtapositions. At cafes, immaculately coiffed Southern socialites sit beside pierced and tattooed students from the North Carolina School of the Arts, and an idle brick smokestack from a century-old R. J. Reynolds tobacco plant stands near a domed Cesar Pelli skyscraper that looks like a giant bottle of roll-on antiperspirant.

The writer was quite kind (we all know what that domed skyscraper really looks like) and it made it seem like there was actually something worthwhile to do in the town as long as you are there for no more than 36 hours.
