For a country that prides itself on its tolerance, there has been far too much violence taken against some of the Netherlands more outspoken citizens. This week a social and political activist was murdered in Nijmegen. Violence of any kind is wrong, but violence directed at someone because of their beliefs is particularly disturbing. Will people ever agree that violence is not the answer and sit down and work out their differences? I sure hope so... here's some more encouraging local news with the mayor standing up for activists' freedom of expression.
